Auditions for It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, and Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the Butler Little Theatre (1 Howard Street). The show is directed by Phillip Ball and produced by Karen O’Donnell.
This show has roles for 3 men and 2 women, ages 18-70s. One man will play George Bailey, one woman will play Mary Hatch. The remaining actors will voice the other 41 characters. All actors will be involved with running live sound effects.
Materials will be provided at the audition. No prepared monologue is required.
Production Dates: Dec. 4-12 (Except Monday), with an additional performance Sunday, Nov. 29, at 10th Street Station in Ford City.
About the Play
A fun twist on the beloved classic film, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play places you inside a 1930’s radio station. Using vintage sound effect techniques and colorful character acting, the actors tell the story of George Bailey’s life and the struggles he faces in Bedford Falls. George longs to leave his tiny hometown, but responsibilities and love pull him back in. When the family business is in jeopardy and George wishes to escape, divine forces must step in.
