Joan Castillo is an accomplished amateur ballroom dancer, with more than 27 years of pro-am ballroom dance experience. A former World-O-Rama All-Around ProAm Champion at Arthur Murray, Joan is the 2026 Fred Astaire ProAm World Champion in Silver Closed Latin and a multiple-time ProAm National and World Championship winner in Smooth, Latin, and Rhythm. Joan has studied with many national dance coaches. Joan was delighted to serve as movement coach in adapting original choreography by coach Jessica Thomas of Pittsburgh. She is delighted to serve as choreographer and movement coach for the Argentine tango scene in The Guys, helping the cast capture the emotion, connection, and dramatic intensity of this iconic dance in a brief but meaningful moment of the production. Joan lives in the Pittsburgh area and continues to train, compete, and inspire dancers of all ages through her passion for ballroom dance and the performing arts.
